Scrubs

So my roommates love Netflix, and it seems every time I walk in the living room they have Scrubs on.  Now I have never enjoyed Scrubs, I always catch small segments of the show, and I never see the appeal.  But as of late I find myself sitting down and watching it, and then being pulled in.  The show is very much nothing but complete wit.  It is very fast paced, along with very lovable characters once embraced.  The show is interesting because is not filmed traditionally, it feels as though its more low budget, but it still carries a prime time following.  This show clearly shows us that it's not about the packaging, but the content.  More interestingly the show was cancelled and then brought back, cult followings have a lot of influence in todays media.

The Host

Alright, so Stephanie Meyers really turned some heads with her hit book series "Twilight".  Well her second book "The Host" had a fair following as well, so I figured I would give the movie a shot, it was terrible.  Absolutely horrible, the reason Twilight was good at all was due to a compelling story even though her writing was very amateur and shoddy.  This film had her horrible writing all over it, I felt as though the movie was a perfect reflection of her terrible writing.  Audiences felt as though they had been gypped out of two hours of their life.  The only people who it seems truly enjoyed the picture were 12 year old girls who read the book.  All in all, a very disappointing piece of work, and a bad reflection of entertainment in today's media.  Or ya know what, it may have been a perfect reflection of entertainment in today's media.

Psych

USA Network seems to be one of the biggest powerhouse's in the television industry right now as far as Original Programming goes.  One of their premiere original series right now is by far Psych staring James Roday and Dule' Hill who also produce the show as well.  The preface of the show revolves around a genius detective who hates police, so therefore to be a detective without the burden of the badge, he pretends to be a psychic.  The shows mystique completely is centered on the 1980's even though it takes place in today's world.  This was a very smart move on writings part, seeing as how the 1980's are completely making a come back in today's pop culture, fashion, music, movies, and video games.  

Ironman 3

Marvel Studios was in an incredible downslide when they brought Tony Stark to the silver screen to save the day, ever since Ironman has been the sort of mascot of the Marvel movie world.  Ironman was the savior of Marvel Comics movies.  So now here we are with the third installment of the Ironman franchise and to be honest, I think that it was wrapped up quite nicely.  Most critics within the media have criticized the production of this film, they found it weak and shoddy.  I highly disagree, I absolutely loved the humanization of the character Tony Stark, and I found the story far more complex and moving than the story line in The Avengers.  Most audiences enjoyed Ironman 3, but left disappointed.  So the question remains, Will Tony Stark return for a fourth film?

The Song Of The Day

Ya ever have one of those days when you head to your job and your just dragging, no matter what you do, ya just can't seem to get yourself going.  Well i've found a cure for mornings like this, there is a online program called "Night Time America".  It is a online radio station and it features a program called "The Song Of The Day" which is hosted by radio personalities Brett Stevens, Bryce Harrison, & Clutch Anderson.  The Song Of The Day is about a 10 minute program, it consists of a comedy clip at the start, then we hear some banter from the DJ's, and they finish off with a song off the top 40 to get your day pumped up.  I think it is a fantastic piece of media that allows you access to a wonderful daily made program that is very entertaining and accessible from almost any device at any time, completely free of charge.  Night Time America also has the potential to be the future of where radio is heading.
